Was searching the web, and came across Vox's new Night Train 15-watt head.
Got to hear it in person at NAMM. If I didn't already have an AC15 and and AC4TV, I'd have one in a heartbeat. They sound fantastic!
Time to buy me a new amp.
It's either gonna be the Night Train with the matching 12" Celestion greenback cab, or the AC15cc.
I've been reading positive reviews for the NT on other forums. You might buy one from a retailer who offers a satisfaction guarantee, just in case.
My got a nice sparkle.......
That's nice looking SI! How many watts is it?
The Night Train is 15 watts, with a 7 watt mode as well.
It does Vox clean-chime and hair as good as any newer Vox I played or heard.
It has a gainy thick side that is pretty harsh with the stock Sovtek tubes......but I have some JJ here and it gets mucho better.....FUN amp for short $$$'s.
I have some Mullards that were offered from a bud and he says it'll make it a really nice unit.
I am tempted to sell my TRRI and use the cash to pick one of these up. I saw a demo on Pro Guitar Shop and was impressed, especially by the price
That demo sold me.....really pretty close to what you hear.
Yeah, I agree; that demo was spot on.
That thing is fiiiiiiine! sounds good too I'd love to see one of those on a stage somewhere.
What cab are you using?
How does your Night Train compare with an AC15? The other day I played an AC15cc with the Barfdale speaker. Was not impessed, rather blassé.
I love mine!
I got it for $399 shipped from Music123 - they were having a 20% off 1 item sale a couple of weekends ago.
I'm playing it through a Celestion Blue in an Avatar 2x12 - yep 1 speaker in a 2x12. Just waiting for the matching NT cab to be released.
I've played more guitar in the past few weeks than in months. Amazing little amp.
Ah...Alnico Blue....now that's the way to go!
