Anyone knows if this assembly is just polished aluminum or is there any bling-bling coating like chrom on the surface? I’ve got to know before I order for small 140€ (thanks a lot Fender!)!!!!

Absurd, isn‘t it? The vintage flat handle is about 160€!

This is the Duane Eddy bar, not ? The one I happen to find on a 2nd hand gtr is definitely polished alu (and feels grEAt), but don't know if various versions exist...

Nope, it‘s the vintage narrow handle. The Duane Eddy (got one on my 5420)...

And there is another rare version

Oops, I see, sorry for the irrelevant addition! The slot screw made me look not much further ;-)

    Good luck finding the VNH!

Well, Stefan... If I had it in hands, I could tell...

Weight it : if it's light, it's alu - and it's then probably not chrome plated. It's very difficult and costy to chrome aluminium (chrome doesn't want to stick on it because of the alumine).

Look at it under sunlight, and compare with chrome plated and stainless steel parts : you'll see the difference in the light reflections. Aluminium has always some "light grey tarnish" on it, even polished (again, it's alumine) conversely to chrome-plated and stainless steel, which show deeper and neatier reflections (if they are cleaned).

    A+!
