    Hi !
Which tremolo should i use to get the real "duane eddy" Rebel rouser effect on my gretsch?

    Boss TR2 Tremolo?

    Marshall VT-1?

    or something else?

does it matter what tremolo i buy as long as it is a tremolo?
Or does duane eddy use something else? or is it just his guitar and amp?

    Greetings.

That sound supposedly was recorded with an outboard DeArmond tremelo unit, and thats what I went after in dialing in the design of my own tremelo, a very bubbly sound with a deep low throb that lets the twang through.

As much as that DeArmond outboard unit may have been what he originally recorded with, he currently tours with a stereo Dunlop Tremelo and a nocturne dynobrain. His fingers mixed with that bigsby and the dunlop trem sound everybit as good as that original recording. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that new gretsch Duane Eddy model and tru-arc bridge have something to do with it too :)

What TV means is you can do a good job with the Nailhead Trem and you should buy one now 'coz they are really really good and we should always support our own.

Wow that is nice! So much smoother than the clippy optical trems in modern Fender amps.
