I used the copper shielding tape on the back of my partscaster.

I also used the StewMac shielding paint on all cavities, and made sure that they contacted each other.

Pleased with the "quiet" results on my one and only Tele.

Right now these pics look a lot more blue to me on my screen in which case I agree with the cream or white Pearloid look, something closer to the binding.

That is one unique color pickguard - and it looks like it might actually "work" with Daphne Blue...

Yeah, this Daphne Blue GFS body is a gorgeous shade of blue, in my opinion. I like the color/finish a lot - it really pops. This particular shade of DB seems almost turquoise-colored..

That looks great, but I love white with that color.

That's why I went to "recovery" after my first Tele build.

If I wouldn't have, I would have your blue Tele with a white guard, and one with a black guard, and..........then all the other color and guard combos.

Your collection has my head spinning again.

    Black, preferably bakelite for me...

A Spitfire tort of the right hues/aging could match it in aesthetic cool for me but you'd spend about half the cost of a new CV tele if you ordered one from them.

I'd take mint or white/parchment one ply too.

Agree. The bakelite is "it" for the black. One ply parchment/ white is my favorite light colored guard material.

I like the simpler look on a Tele.

Yep, bakelite would definitely be the way to go, but since I already had the original black guard left over from a Squier CV50's Tele/GFS body project, I just went ahead and put the original black Squier CV pickguard back on.

(I put a Squier CV50's neck and hardware on a GFS lightweight Daphne Blue paulownia body to try to get the weight down on the CV50's Tele - it weighed 10 lbs. My tech did the work.)

Black on this alternative. My personal favoite would be an aged white, though.

Well, I would personally have chosen a parchment or an aged pearloid pickguard - not black nor pearloid... I think it would have better matched the Daphne Blue.

But it's me and it's your guitar, not mine, OK ? :D

Yes agreed it is gorgeous! And of the two I still like the tort better. In the first pics it just looked a lot lighter color on my screen. Almost a white ice blue. These last pics I assume are much more representative of the color.

How about no pick guard at all. Worked for Merle Haggard.

Black. For some reason, anything but black or white makes a Tele (or Strat, for that matter) look cheap to me.

I wouldn’t say that is universally true. I actually like the white on my MIM 60th Strat, it has aged to a nice color. I am not a fan of plain single color or single layer pick guards usually but like everything there are exceptions.
