There's another forum I visit more or less frequently, on which they've got a thread which I've found helps cheer people up. At least, it's sometimes worked for me. It consists of writing three good things of your day. Especially when you've had a very bad day, coming up with these three things shows that the day hasn't been all bad.

I don't know whether the thread will work here, but let's have a go. Today's been a normal -not too good, not too bad- day for me, and my three good things of the day are:

    1) I've finished marking exams sooner than expected, so the evening is all mine. No work! This only happens once in a blue moon.

    2) Thanks to a thread here about songs with colours in their title, I've listened to a few I hadn't listened to for some time. I'm especially glad to have heard again Roy Orbison's "Blue Angel", one I fell in love with so long ago I cannot even remember.

    3) My mother's courgette cream was excellent.

    1. Woke up at 2pm (but I'd made some coffee for the wife by 8:30am so I'd been a nice husband too).
    2. Noodled on my accoustic Washburn during a few hours, incl. the chords of Let It Be Me for the very first time in my life. Then I know a new song!
    3. Currently baking vegetables thinly sliced the Italian way plus cod slices with lemon, olive oil and garlic. Smells good already and dinner will be ready within 10 minutes. Yummy yummy.

    1. Spent a lovely day with my wife and kids playing games, building IKEA furniture with my 10-year-old daughter, and planning our upcoming trip to Asia.

    2. Grilled and enjoyed a seriously good ribeye.

    3. At my wife's insistence, cranked up Jeff Healey's cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and played it twice in a row.

    4. Cranked this one up too.

Playing for worship on Sundays is always a highlight.........producing a youth choir tune for an upcoming Christmas blowout(the tune is actually a REALLY cool soul ballad version of Silent Night...I played guitars on it...they plan to do a video for the song, I'll have to post it here when it's put out on YouTube)........and the third hasn't happened yet.......but I'm about to go makeout with my wife. ;)
