Any love for the Fender Parallel universe Tele?

I like the shape of a Strat but really want a Tele, so...what do you think?

Ps: the reverse looks awful. They offer a Tele body with Strat stuff.

The Thinline on the right was my favorite from that collection.

Interesting but...kind of expensive for what it is. So it seems to me anyways.

I like it. Similar to the Pawnshop '51 they did a few years back. But If I wanted something like that I'd say 1200 bucks at Warmoth?

I think it's got Tele parts put in a Strat body.... and absurdly expensive also :)

The belly cutaway Tele's made past 10 yrs are equally as comfy as a Strat and sound no different to any other Tele imo

Have you checked out the Ibanez Talman? They have a std for around 400 clams and a Fujigen made Prestige for 1200.00. I like them. Screenshot_2019-10-09-02-10-53-1.png
Also, Yamaha made a Pacifica402s in the '90s that is just killer (i have one) and a total bargain, has a belly cut too. Screenshot_2019-10-09-02-17-08-1.png theres one on Reverb right now for 300 bux!!;)

Yeah I really like that Pacifica 402.
Have you played one - does it sound just like a real Tele with those pups ?

I own one man! It's my "Tele", stock pickups are not bad at all ceramics, mine now has a P90 front and alnico Chandler in back. Killer guitars. 20190725_162702.jpg

I've got no experience w/ the model in question, but I still love my Fender Pawn Shop '72 I grabbed used for ~ $600 IIRC a few years ago every time I pull it out. Great MiJ Tele neck & thinline Strat body + a Lollar Novel T at the bridge & a MojoTone WRHB at the neck & a Hipshot bridge & it's a pretty great '70s Custom in function IMO:

Not bad, but the $2K price tag seems a bit much.

I had to part with my Yamaha RGX series 1980's vintage, maybe slightly earlier vintage than the Pacifica models? It was a pretty decent HSS Strat copy with a Floyd-Rose type tremolo and short scale length 24 fret neck, your typical '80s shredder. That was the one I had to part with to make room for my Gretsch Electromatic 12 string last July. I never was much of a shredder. Seems like Yamaha has always made good-quality budget guitars.

Kind of cool for Fender to mix them up a little, why not put a Tele on a Strat body? I put a Strat neck on my Tele, I just prefer a Rosewood fingerboard over hard Maple, and that was what was available in the store on sale at the time.
