So I'm thinking about a NGD in my life . I'm on the notification " when it's available list " at SweetWater as it's soon to be released by Fender . It's a Squire Classic Vibe '50 Telecaster for $ 349.99 I've heard good things about these Squires . I know @Flouswa had purchased a Squire and is very happy with it . Seems good for this " play at home " guitarist and it won't break the bank . Thoughts ......... TeleCV50BSB.jpg

Squier guitars, like Streamliners, show that cheap doesn't mean bad anymore. Great well made guitars. Go fer it!

I have a white blonde one that is hard to differentiate from my '52 reissue. I did change the pickups but the originals were quite capable. It's a great guitar.

I'd be hard pressed to tell you not to, especially if there is no other Tele in your arsenal. Tele cases are easy to come by and also don't have to break the bank either.

Come on, you don't expect us to tell you it's a wrong idea, you don't need another guitar and you should keep your money for something more useful... ;)

Squires don’t come with a case.

A week ago my wife told me she had to come clean. Turns out she’s been hiding a very expensive purse for seven months in the house. But that’s ok. I had a guitar that was in hiding when she was around too.

You're asking this herd of rabid enablers if you should buy another guitar?

That Tele looks like a good deal. The CV Squiers are a great value for the money. I picked up a Fender Chinese made Tele Modern Player Plus with the added Strat middle pickup and humbucker in the bridge position. With all my wheeling and dealing, I got it from GC for $449 including a nice gig bag. I have since put it in a tweed Fender case. I really like it and although it is Chinese the workmanship and finish are outstanding. I really like the versatility of the pickup layout.

Make sure you get a light one, and be prepared to send it back if it isn’t.
Really the only complaint I’ve read people come up with was that some were on the heavy side.

Have heard nothing but good about those Classic Vibe Squire Tele's. No surprise I say go for it! Think they do at least have sort of a jack plate (like Fender Tele's). Cases are available (watch for sales and consider non factory branded).

Every guitarist should own a Tele, Rich.

Definitely go for it - everybody loves this particular guitar. The classic vibe in tele or strat has many admirers. I’m amazed we don’t all have one. I mean two.

Go for it. I recently checked out a Classic Vibe Strat in the store and I was impressed with the fit and finish.
Can't go wrong for the price.
