I decided it was time to demo this pedal for all of you fine folks who have asked me to. You can also see and hear the new Gretsch 6128 in action. :)

The Ubangi Stomp is a wildly versatile pedal, and I hope I was able to show that. This is not about my hotdogging and showcasing my playing at all, so I tried to just concentrate on the sounds rather than any hot licks - it's about hopefully demonstrating some of what the pedal does, can do, and why I love it. I purposefully left reverb and delay off until the last bit so you could simply hear the honest tones with nothing in the way(including any post-processing or extra eq’ing). Listen on decent headphones if you can........enjoy!

Great video. Unfortunately, in demonstrating the versatility of the Ubangi, you've managed to shine a light on an inherent issue with the Nocturne line:
For guys (like myself) who have collected more than a fair share of high end pedals, spending a little bit of time with the Mystery Brain and the Ubangi, it becomes painfully obvious that these together are all you really need -which then renders the Strymons, high end dirt boxes and many other shiny objects obsolete!

I'm glad that you chose to go Vox for your video and didn't focus entirely on rockabilly and worship sounds. As much as I love my Fender stuff it's nice to see how well it does with an AC circuit. My AC30 loves Nocturne. Without discounting rockabilly or P&W stuff, these pedals can do a whole lot more very, very well.
Happy to see that the Ubangi is staying back in production.

Great demo on the pedal. Great demo on your chops too, I know it's hard not to do that. :p

You're right - that "touch of hair" tone is one of the hardest to obtain. To maintain clarity, with some added girth and sustain while keeping the entire definition and dynamic of the note is tough. The Ubangi seems to nail that at the lower "Gnar" settings. Great demo!

"Just a little hair". I wish. These days mine seems to be growing everywhere apart from where it should be.

    Nice playing.

Move your compressor before your Mystery Brain so you can use the Abby to goose your Ubangi and spend your money for another Brain pedal!

Great demo Tony, and great work Tavo! Sounds amazing. Tony - glad to hear you finally took the AC10C1 plunge! They're killer little amps! Going a few years with mine now and it still blows me away with such a huge sound from a small amp.
