Forum member wildman started a thread called " This Movie " regarding the movie " One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest " . I passed a comment stating " Excellent movie . A lot better then what I saw this weekend ( Rocketman ..don't waiste your time or money , 2 hours of my life I'll never get back ) .
I found it to be just a very weird movie . I was ready to leave the theater after the first half hour also . It was more like a musical if you even would call it that . Thought it would be more on the level of the movie " Bohemian Rhapsody " .. I was very dissapointed .
Any one else see the movie " Rocketman " ...... thoughts ?

My wife saw it and she has the same opinion as you, Rich. I don't want to see it because I lived through 10 years of Elton tours of OZ/NZ

I've read that it's underperforming, and no way will it reach the popularity Bohemian Rhapsody did (which imo was a masterpiece).

Ok, so what’s the dirt on the tour? Or we gotta wait on the book?

Some friends went last weekend and were underwhelmed...that's good enough for me. I might check it out when it's on TBS every Saturday afternoon in about a year...

My understanding is that it was conceived as a musical, not a straightforward bio. Expect to see it on Broadway

Unwritten rule of stagehands and techies---"What happens on the road, stays on the road". Nobody'd really believe it anyhow.

Yes, if you want the unvarnished truth you have to wait until the book deal is done and the lawyers have got involved!

I love Elton John's music but I'm not into his life style. So I'd rather listen and enjoy his music than watch a gay man in bed with another gay man - that's a personal thing and should be left that way.
To me the Yellow Brick Road album was a highlight in his career not his love life.
So in that regard the movie was a let down and bummer.
Besides it isn't even Elton singing in the movie.

We actually cover the song Rocket Man. I have no idea why. I respect Elton John's talents but I'm not a huge fan of this genre of pop.

There are many artists that I enjoy their music but don't agree with their lifestyle/politics/etc. Just because I like a tune doesn't mean that I'm going to go along with every aspect about the writer/singer.

Love Queen and the band is allright too, but I have zero interest in watching either movie.
