I’m embarrassed to say I had to look up what a “CC” was ...
Nope. Not this guy. It's missing a pick up and has cigarette burns on it. I bet it looked better when it was red.
I've always been told that CC were the "jazzy" Gretsches. I checked some early 60's myself at a shop and I had that feeling as well (although Dynas are hardly considered jazzy pickups). Big bodied babies with a huge neck that love to be played clean.
Hard to figure them get along well with Malcolm's fans...
Sure we can. Gun gun gun Gun. See? We just can't discuss gun politics, etc.
My post was merely a reflection of my odd sense of humor.
For 500 points and the championship, what is the context for, "If You Knew What the Gnu Knew?"
No googling, now! You either know or you don't!
I have no idea of the context, but one thing is for sure--
The gnu knew that "gnu" is properly pronounced with a silent "y" (or a long syllabic "u" as "yoo") after the "n"... Almost like two syllables.
Better yet, it's easier to just pronounce it as "wildebeest".
It’d be a cold day in Tavo’s workshop before I’d make that trade.
The Gnu song? Or a a reference to Herman W something or other last name.
I wish Clubs were worth less over here, but i'm just not seeing that, with Caddy green anyway, best one i saw was a year or two ago ,two tone bamboo yellow/copper mist Dyna Club for £1499. Aye,i should've bought it,but i want a Dyna in green.
The green go for over 2K usually.
And worth every penny...
Oh i agree Rob,but not in my budget these days.
It a down grade trade..
Well I could have predicted most of the members here would have said no.
Most here are clean players and Malcolm's Jet excels at crunch tones and has the ACDC vibe.
Not many Malcolm fans on this forum even though he's by far the most famous man ever to play exclusively Gretsch. And paired with a vintage Marshall amp he created what millions believe is the best and most iconic guitar tone in the history of rock music.
Would I trade - totally depends on the 2 specific guitars.
I'd need to see pics and details on both before I could decide
And it also depends on what other Gretsch you already own.
I already have a Jet 6131 that sounds very similar to the Malcolm Jet.
I'm a AC/DC fan. Thought Malcolm was awesome. Just never liked the whole reliced guitar thing or making purchases as a star strucked guy. I get the nostalgia thing. it's just not me. I can certainly respect those who are though.
yeah I'm not into the looks of the Malcolm either.
I much preferred the 6131 Jet Firebird I got
If the possible swap is for a real Malcolm though in good condition it'll likely be worth much more than a CC in 5-10 yrs. Could probly sell it then and buy 2 Country Clubs
So what is a “Real Malcolm”??
Yes as an investment.
