Title about covers it. Along with the classic male hearing loss in the upper registers I have profound hearing loss in one ear from the damage done from a reverse block when on a SCUBA dive off Point Lobos many years ago.

The rub, with my hearing aids in, (good quality ones with much time spent adjusting them with the audiologist),many things sound shrill including my hollow bodies. With them out everything sounds dead and muted.

I’m never sure when I find a tone I love what anyone else is hearing.

Just a bit frustrated with it today I guess.

It is time for new hearing aids, anybody have a hearing aid they really like?

Thanks from an old guy who realizes his problems are pretty darn minor.

    I can relate radd.

lots of issues when I had mine fitted. never feel comfortable, too harsh in the higher registers that they are prescribed for. they don't really fit well with glasses earpieces in place. I have 4 channels/programs to choose from on my Bernafon ear pieces, all have been adjusted and readjusted... feed back at higher volume, especially if I brush my hand past the microphone pick-up. I have had multiple visits to the audio specialists. It's probably just me that can't get used to them after 7 months. 4 figures in the cost department.

When playing acoustic guitar, things are sweet. when playing electric, it all sounds OK when playing, upon reviewing the recording, it seems barely fit for human consumption. not sure where to go next. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone in the hearing struggles. persistence will get it sorted out.

    Tdtom, thanks for the comments

I have the same brand and much the same experience but I’ve had them for a few years.
