Oh no! Hal Blaine is the beat behind the soundtrack to my life! The Wrecking Crew are slowly drifting away. RIP Hal.

    Rip Hal.
You played hundreds of great drum parts over the years. You played on many of my favorite American pop songs.
    Thank You!

He lived a few hours away from here, near Palm Springs, but close enough to LA to still play the occasional session. He kept his hand in the game for a long time. He was a real class act.

It’d take years to play all the songs he played on. RIP sir.

I have to admit to not having heard of him (nothing new considering my limited musical tastes) but it's always sad when a musician of exceptional talent passes away.
I looked him up on Wiki and was surprised to see that he died at the age of 90. I suspect that most musicias do not last anywhere like that long, and I also suspect that he probably lead a full and fulfilling life.

Never the show-off (like say ... Buddy Rich), Hal always played exactly the right part for the song. A lot of his stuff isn't particularly difficult - it's just perfect.

One of the giants of drums for sure! Respect - Big Time! RIP, Hal.

There's a great documentary about the Wrecking Crew. You might not have heard of them but you've certainly heard them many times.

    A book too:

I love these rock 'n' Roll stories when they come from the horse's mouth.
    Thanks for that Doc.

It just so happens that "The Wrecking Crew" will be on some PBS feeds tonight (12 March 2018). Talk about timing...

Rest In Peace, Sir. What a drummer. Watched and recorded The Wrecking Crew a handful of months ago after Syncro recommended it. Good tip.
