I read that the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup performs better with a 500k pot, but my TVJ Starwood Tele neck pickup likes the 250k.
I found a discarded 500k pot in my parts pile. I wired the SD directly to the 500K and the TVJ directly to the 250k.
I wired both pots to the pickup selector Gretsch style.
It was out of phase in the middle position so I had to flip the SD wires. Now it seems to be working great.
The Quarter Pounder sounds more open, and I can blend the pickups in the middle position.
Next, I think I’m going to get rid of the blade selector and use a toggle switch. I’ll have to either make or order a new control plate for that.
    We’ll see!

The only matching set of knobs I have are USA G arrow knobs. They’ll work for now.

I sure hope everyone is staying cool and amusing themselves at home thru this ridiculous chapter in history!

    Peace!

That is one of the most terrifying guitars I've ever seen...and that's just the Bigsby!

Cool! Yeah, she looks kinda evil...

... you get along with blending by two volumes then... However it is done, seamless blendability really is a step up from not having such.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool to be able to blend them. I could even get rid of the selector switch all together I guess, and just use the volumes.

I'm thinking about that, too, but still have the serial option in mine, so I thought, maybe the next one, then with a balance pot for blending and a master for master, so that always one is unrestricted. 250 kOhm should totally do it, a pickup through that resistance is practically off. If not - 500 will do it. Currently, the blend-pot is a 50 kOhm, which leaves a little of the affected pickup in, but really not much. Enough to hear a difference to main-pickup (which can be both, depends on switch) alone, at least clean.

The serial ... I don't use it often, I could live without it. Maybe I'll do so. The control plate (and cavity) is pretty crowded currently ... would need a new one then. Still have 2mm alu here, so ... I won't pay 20, 30 € for something I can make myself in half an hour, it's not a showroom guitar, ...

Idea for the theme of another parts-caster (tele or strat) for your collection: decorate it in the colors of the British Royal Navy, or the colonial Virginia flag which was flown by the pirate hunter Robert Maynard... the guy who killed Blackbeard. Just a bit of pirate history there. You know, the Union Jack versus the Jolly Roger? That would be quite the pair.

Cool. I've been wanting to try one single blend pot to replace the switch and 2 individual volumes. Middle of the knob is both pickups on at 100%. As you turn clockwise, the bridge faces out until it is just the neck pickup. And vice versa. At least one pickup is always on at 100%, with a separate master volume.

The leather guard and armrest were hand-tooled by GT’s own talented leather-man @panhead6zero !
It’s hard to really do it justice in picture.
He was a pleasure to work with.

Just my 2 cents -- I think they look fantastic on this guitar.

In fact, I think everything on this guitar just clicks. I wouldn't change a thing.

    Thanx man!
When the quarantine is over, I wanna play this at our next gig.
I’m loving the Seymour Duncan with the 500k pot.

I’d like to make a video showing it off someday. I’d feel silly “reviewing” it since I put it together myself. Hard to be unbiased.;)
