This is for my own use, so it's nothing fancy.

For those of you that don't find 'just another build' boring :D Nobody makes you read these.

Swamp Ash body, maple neck, pau ferro fretboard.
I have a tortoiseshell pickguard on the way, this black one was handy for mockups.
Fender CS 'vintage' pickups, Hipshot A bridge and ultralight tuners.
Using double gang pots so I have individual controls for the pickups without adding extra holes in the guard. It's ready for grainfill now, I just have to figure out if I want to leave it natural or do some kinda burst.

A word of warning about pau ferro. I radiused a fingerboard made of it with a radius sanding block a number of years ago (beautiful wood!) but then had a terrible rash on my right arm which lasted for about 3-4 months from exposure to the sawdust going up the sleeve of my shirt. Something like poison ivy but much longer lasting.

Your bass looks great by the way!

Thanks. I've worked with it before without a problem. It's odd how some people are allergic to different woods.

Thanks man. If it wasn't for the fun colonoscopy today (and the prep yesterday) I'd have strings on it by now lol.

You did a remarkable job on the shaping. Looks super-smooth.

That's the best part about these bodies, it's just fun to to try and get that organic shaping done. The hard part is knowing when to stop lol.

The best part of a colonoscopy is when you come to in the recovery room. They usually schedule a whole bunch of them one after the other, and they do pump quite a bit of air into you for the procedure. Quite the symphony as people come to.....
