Nice background too!
I need a tiki tiger sticker for this one.
My '83 Standard top loader
What does Top Loader mean? Havent heard that before
The strings are anchored in the "ashtray" that holds the bridge pickup. In the classic Tele configuration the strings go right through the body via the ferrules in the back.
can I have the specifics on this model,, dude I LOOOVE this tele.
You nailed it, Audept. That's it exactly.
Thanks, TV. I believe they only made this particular model for two years ('83-'84). The last of the Fullerton-made Teles.
It's got a top loader bridge with the unique Schaller Elite saddles. Neck is a flat 12" radius, 1.7" nut width. Comes with Micro-tilt neck adjustment.
Mine plays like a dream, and sounds fantastic - especially through my '69 silverface Champ.
Why isn't the cavity shielded?
Im redoing the pots and switch on my Epi G400 and planned on doing the copper tape thing.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. None of the half-dozen Tele's I have is shielded -- they are all very quiet.
Telecasters are my favourite guitar, by far. Simple and effective.
My favourite Telecaster is very simple -- a single TV Jones Powertron.

That is a jewel
That’s Killer, Stencil. Can’t argue with anything you said. Ol’ Leo, he did alright. First solid body ever mass produced, too which just adds to my love.
Speaking of my love...’08 American Deluxe Ash I got in ‘09 from the original owner who just preferred his Strats. His loss. Easiest playing, awesome sounding, just about anything I want to do. $ for $, best guitar I’ve ever owned and there have been a couple dozen, most of which were really nice. First one’s were just about like this’n, only not quite as fine. This here’s a jewel, too. My jewel.
This thread has me jonesing for a Tele!
That's a beauty, Dafreeze! It just looks like the "perfect Tele"...
Very nice! My favorite Tele color combination!
Funny thing is I’d never really cared for them. Didn’t think the body cut looked good compared with others, headstock reminded me of a thumbless hand and even knowing Jimmy Page played the snot out of one, especially early I associated them with country music...not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Then I played one. Happened to be this one too, the only lady to pop my Telecherry. It’s the only guitar I kept from this lineup, although my Son still has the root beer Studio Supreme. The only guitar I put her equal and infact above in many ways was a caddy green Duo with Dynas, not pic’d. I let that go because it was worth 2.5x the $. Also not picd are a Ric 360/6 and another LP Studio, which I still have.
Thanks Champ. If it wasn’t such a waste, they’d bury her with me. Again, it amazes me they were the first and I never cared for them. Here’s one of the first.
Thank you Sir...if I recall you have one that might be considered her equal.
Yep, she's back in post #3 of this thread.
Together in the music room for the first time today.
