OK, I've been chasing my tail for a good sounding OD pedal. This is my first pedal from Tavo.

Just picked it up from the PO, and it's time to see what it's all about.

I'll "check in" later. Going to be busy for a while. :)

Beautiful pedal. I suspect it won’t be your last pedal from Nocturne. Congrats!

Well, I'm a fool. I must have sold my 9v adapters when I sold other pedals.

I found one 18v, and that's it. Dang it, just have to look at it today. Not going into town until the weekend.

Been a while since I cussed up a storm.

Thanks, and wasn't even thinking of it.

I learned decades ago not to stick things into other things that I wasn't sure about!

All that means is although you have to wait to try it you are sparred gassing over other Nocturne pedals. You will be Nocturned.

OK, got a power supply over the weekend, and have been busy.

The honeymoon has started with this pedal. I've been able to tweek knobs, and plug in to all three of my amps.

Cave Valley Plexi based head, Vox AC10C1, and a Fender Excelsior. The CV and Vox were plugged into a 1-12" Vox cab with a Celestion Gold.

Only guitar so far had been my -58 Gent RI. (just can't put it down! Lol)

Something is wrong with this pedal. It lacks that "FIZZZZZZ" sound that every OD pedal that I've ever been around has had.

Another issue is that all the controls are usable and have a real function on how the pedal sounds.

The last issue is a big one. It offers very low to almost no gain, all the way to, IMO, a whole lot of gain.

What the heck is going on? A pedal that delivers as advertised?

I see why so many folks recommend this pedal, time after time.

Thank you Tavo for coming up with this pedal, and thanks to all of you folks around here for your input about it.

It plays well with all my amps, and the biggest surprise was the Excelsior.

I'm now able to get an overdrive sound that I've been looking for..........and no FIZZZL!

Still on the honeymoon, but this one is a keeper for me.

    Good stuff Tavo!

Glad its working out. I have the same issues with most drive pedals, they either sound fizzy or farty. This is a great pedal.

I’m glad you’re digging it. My DC Fluid Drive is staying put. To be honest, I still browse gear like everyone else. I just don’t browse light drives anymore because I have no need for any other one. :)

The Fluid Drive actually astounds me, which is hard to do. It does ANYTHING I want it to, but never sounds like anything other than my base amp tone. ??? More bass if I want it......more treble if I want it......more gain.....more volume.......but never changes the way my guitar sounds and FEELS.

Light drives, pre's, fuzz, od, since I got my Nocturne pedals I don't look at any of them. Just some FX here and there.

The Drive is very good at what it does. I don’t miss my Analogman SD-1 but the SD-1 never claimed to be transparent, so I’m not knocking it.
My goal with the Fluid Drive is to have it match the EQ of my amp so when I engage the Drive there is no increase or decrease in bass and treble. It does it no problem. I set the volume or boost, just above where my amp is. The gain, as if it’s my amp now breaking up. Everyone I’m sure has their own way of using the pedal, no wrong way!

    Enjoy it!!
