Actually got this a couple weeks ago real cheap as a fixer upper, it's a very cool one year only 1941 Oahu Islander lap steel and came with its original tweed case! Unfortunately it's electronics had all been changed by someone who didn't know what they were doing, they did use good parts though, including a nice '80s Jackson alnico Strat pickup. I had to pull out all the wires and start over, dunno wth they were smokin.......also they had a standard nut on it, i guess they played it like a regular guitar, no prob though cause i had a high steel nut in stock. A few of the screws that hold the bridge down were stripped out so i drilled and dowelled them and redrilled them.
The finishing touch was the decal, my wife printed me one on water transfer paper with our printer then i laquered it...came out killer imo.
Well that was long winded for sure but here she is! 20190720_151455.jpg 20190720_151504.jpg 20190712_210601.jpg CASE!

Been havin fun playing it today, nice to have one in this tuning (Emaj). Its lap steel number 3, electric number 3 anyway and they are all in different tunings. Each tuning has its own ideal string gauges. This pickup is sweet, nice grindy breakup, perfect for over driven bluesy stuff. I had no idea Jackson made such nice pickups in the '80s.
