Well, technically I guess it's New Guitar(s) Day(s), but whatever... Basically, been hankering for a good Strat for a long, long time; I sold off the one I used as my Number 1 for nearly 8 years some 10 years back when I went to playing PRS almost exclusively for a bit... I had a PRS 305 that I used as my "Strat" but I always had this nostalgic desire to get myself another good Fender... So I got looking seriously in mid 2016, but my "must play before pay" rule seemed to be dragging me down because I just couldn't find one that suited in my budget range... sure, I played a couple of really cool Custom Shop RI strats that seemed to fit, but non of the more affordable production guitars I got my hands on were ringing my bells... and then these two fell into my lap within 10 days of one another: Up top is a 2010 American Vintage '61 "Thin Skin", Candy Apple Red nitro, Fat 50s pickups, 9.5" neck radius and 6105 frets, 7 lb 8 oz... Beneath it is a 2013 American Vintage '65 in Shoreline Gold with matching headstock, the famous grey bottom pickups, 7.25" radius and vintage frets, 7 lb 10 oz... I absolutely love both of these guitars!
