My old man turns 69 this Wednesday, and survived some serious health issues this year.
He’s a great blues, r&b player, but hasn’t played out with a band in a few years.
And since I love my 2622 so much, I thought he’d enjoy one.
I’m hoping this honey will inspire him to play loud again someday.

I went for the stop tail, cuz I doubt he’s going to want to do tons of modding to make a b70 work right.
He never used a wiggle stick much anyway.

    Nice!

You’re unfortunately correct on needing some pretty extensive mods to make the Bigsby work right on these guitars.

You're a great son. You'll never really know how much this means to "the old man."

    Very cool.

Oh I knows it! Mine plays great, but I put so much money and work into it to make it work that way. The old man won’t want that head ache.

Well, I was never a great son! Actually, I’ve been a real pain in the you know what. Me and the old man have had some major differences, but I still love and respect the man.

Very cool of you. The bourbon stain looks killer in person too. I’m sure it’ll inspire.

    It’s a very pretty guitar.
And the Broadtrons sound pretty great too. I was a little surprised just HOW good. I had never played them before cuz my 2622 came to me with TV classics.

There's still a risk you trigger a Gretsch frenzy, that's gonna change the nature of your inheritance. :D
    (Hopefully as late as possible).

    HA!! Inheritance?! That’s a laugh!
I curse the universe everyday that I was born handsome instead of rich!
He’s far more conservative with his money than I am. I’m sure he’ll be happy with just this one. He’s played the same tele and strat for over a decade.

After TUSQ nut, tuners, prof set up, and a tru arc on the way, it should be good to go.

Should’ve / could’ve just gotten an electromatic but i love the guitar and have learned a ton.

Congrats to you both - him on the guitar and you on the gesture. He will find it a lot lighter than Teles and Starts, which may make it his favorite.
