Picked this Starla up in Nashville this past weekend. Really impressed. Suites my playing style perfectly. Sounds like a turbo charged Gretsch.

I would take one of these over my G5135 Corvette. *Holds breath*

Glad it works for you. Thought it would be step up from a Corvette. Couldn't unload it fast enough.

When new, they were 3X the price of the Gretsch Corvette. The only difference that I could see were the humbuckers.

I’ve owned a few PRS guitars and have found them all to share a certain sterility. They are beautiful and well made, but I always think of the old adage, “The perfect is the enemy of the good.” The Corvette was/is a relatively cheap guitar, mostly for beginners, and yet it has a certain joy and fun that the Starla just doesn’t achieve, despite PRS trying so hard to “improve” it.

But YMMV, so if it sparks joy for you, Grab it and play. There are plenty of people who love PRS and the company is certainly successful.

If I bought a PRS it would be a Mira but that Starla looks nice.

I played a PRS SE. model of some kind the other day at the local guitar store. It was selling new for $499. I never plugged it in because there was already too many people playing badly and out of tune so I didn’t think they needed one more with me. But the guitar itself played really nice. I spent about 25 minutes checking it out and was really surprised at how nice it felt to play it
