These are rare and wonderful guitars, I know!
I had already both seen and was watching that one. No zero fret so not rcboals, plus still for sale.
Did a little search . . . but only found a Gretsch zero fret history . . . interesting enough to post for detectives on this one maybe (?) . . . I dunno.
"Today the only true value of a zero fret is to make a reissue guitar historically correct."
I may be wrong, but I believe the intent of the zero fret was so that open strings would have the same tone as a fretted string. As opposed to a bone or other nut material throwing a slightly different note tone. I’m sure if set up correctly they play great, although some don’t care for them.
Nah that is what an ES335 is for
Yes, it has a zero fret
wrong color LOL
You are so close to figuring it out give or take three years, hound dog. Clues, Chet Atkins, Walnut, Filtertrons, standby switch. Tennessee, Chickopee, Spirit Lake, Grand Lake, Devils Lake, Crater Lake, for Pete's sake, I've been everywhere.
Can't wait to see it in it's glory, RC!
6122-1959 Country Gentleman?
WOW!!! what a cool 62 Tennessean is that yours?
Very very close indeed. A clue F holes and pickups and not original vintage? it is supposed to arrive tomorrow
I wish it was, Raye. I nicked the photo from another member's post on the forum.
2009 Gretsch G6119FT Chet Atkins Walnut Tennessee Rose (AKA: Tennessean) arrived today love the slim neck and 7 lbs 4 oz weight well balanced. Definitely has the great Gretsch sound with the Filtertrons.
Never owned a Rose, but I think I’d like to. Congrats!
Beautiful guitar, Raye!
I am going to call her "George"
Congratulations and gorgeous looking. Maybe Gorgeous George is suitable? I really dig the faux f-holes on the dark walnut too.
If it's a "her" maybe Georgia or Georgina would be more appropriate?
Congrats, she is a beauty! That color always seems to vary a lot in photos, makes for a very cool suject.
Nice guitar Raye!
Congrats Raye, that’s a beauty!
Last year I actually came close getting one too. I think an amp or two got in the way.
