This G5655 was a nice find. Looks like the previous owner already upgraded to TV’s and that it has a roller bridge on it implies (to me at least) that hopes were lost on tuning stability. We’ll tune up that break angle and see how she turns out. The guitar shop on the East coast honored their $10 fixed S/H all the way to Alaska. I know they took a hit on that.... Cudos to Powler’s Guitar Experience!!

Hey I have almost its twin. I know a guy who can take care of that string angle on the tension bar. Let me know and I'll hook you up.;) Congrats!!

I had to install a BiggsFix on the G5245 I bought a few months ago. Good luck “tenderizing” your stiff Bigsby action. The usual soft spring replacement left the arm sticking out at about a 30 degree angle. I finally had to order a standard stiffness 7/8” spring to get the handle where it belongs. I’ll be watching this thread for your outcome.

Or is a 7/8” soft or squishy spring available? I’d love to get the Bigsby action on my Jet as soft as it is on my 5420.

    Edited to add:
    Oh yeah.
    Beautiful guitar!!

I just experimented with a heat gun and a vise. After heating the super squishy spring and compressing fully and letting cool, the handle is much lower.
