That is a thing of beauty! As for strings, I've been using Martin Marquis Lights (not the Phosphor Bronze variety) for over 30 years. Love them.

More like 1969. A J45 Custom in three colour sunburst with double pickguards on both sides of the sound hole. Might have cost me $250 used. I would love to have that back. Sounded like "Freewheeling Bob Dylan" to a tee. Sounded like any famous artist with an acoustic guitar. Exactly.

Timeless classic. I played many of them but never had the urge of owning one, maybe because I’m not a big fan of sunburst colors (in both acoustic and electric). They all play like a dream though, but i’m more a 000 guy.
You’ll sure love it. For strings, I recently tried Martin Retro and they suited me just great.

That’s a great companion that will last a lifetime. A real bonafide quality instrument.

For strings, I love and employ Elixir Nanoweb Acoustic strings. 13’s. They stay fresh forever.

That's a great guitar there.... well it must be cos I got one too!
I absolutely love my J45 which looks identical to yours and it is sounds so sweet and well balanced both acoustically and amplified with a great neck, action and finish.
I currently use Elixir 12-53 gauge Nanoweb bronze which sound really great and do keep that ringing 'new string' sound far longer than non-coated strings.
She'll give you many years of playing pleasure I'm sure.

Hard to tell from the pictures, are back and sides Rosewood or Mahogany?
