Hey guys/gals. Sorry that it's been a while since I've posted. Just wanted to share my new acquisition.

First of all, I still love my Gretsch with all my heart and soul. I've had it for roughly 3 years now and still think it's the finest Gretsch I've ever played. However, I pulled the trigger on a new guitar this week.

    2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional.

It's been about 14 years since I last owned a Les Paul. I have to tell ya.... it plays really, really well. So far I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Now, I'm not going to neglect my Gretsch, but I'm afraid this Les Paul may get the majority of my attention for the next little bit!!! ;)

    Cheers,
    Scott

Congrats! That's a beauty. Love my Country Gent, but also my SG and strat. Les Pauls sound superb in the hands of many guitarists but I have yet to find one that stands out in my own hands. The day I find it though, it will be really hard to resist. I want sweet but thick cleans, blues overdrive, classic rock, and metal. I know an LP can do it all, it's hiding from me.

2012 Gibson was still making a great guitar. Don't know if I would buy a new one. Yours looks great. Love the color and finish.

Thanks manunk. I tell ya, I've always been a Fender guy. Started on S-type guitars, etc. Got a Les Paul and never really bonded with it for some reason, so I totally get where you are coming from. Always wanted another one though. Finally got another one and it seems to be doing alright for me. I'm going to enjoy putting it through its paces that's for sure. And you're correct, they have a certain tone that can't really be duplicated by any other guitar. Much like a Gretsch!!!

Thank you. I don't have much experience with the newer Gibsons. Thing about the Traditional that I really like is that it's basically stripped down to the basics. 2 volumes, 2 tones, toggle switch. That's it. No push/pull, coil tapping, etc. Very similar to the original Bursts. And yeah, I really like the finish too.

Thanks so much Larry. I've still been lurking somewhat. Just haven't posted. I'll make a point to try to interact more. :)

    Wow! Simply beautiful.

I’ve been lusting after a 2018 Les Paul Classis Gold Top with P90’s.....But, I’ve bought enough guitars lately.

    Enjoy

Oh yeah, I love Goldtops. Those Classics are very nice. I was seriously considering one of those as well.

Same here. I've always been a fan of the honeyburst/lemonburst/icedtea finishes.

Both where sold to fund Gretsches ,but i wish i had them back as those Gretsches are long gone now too!

Thank you sir. Yes, it's been a long while for me as well. Sounds like you had some "gems" back in the day. Think you might obtain another one?

One of the most beautiful Les Paul’s I’ve ever seen! That flame is gorgeous!
