I need to go desperately. I can see distances better without glasses now---and need them. Still need the bifocals to read. It's been a few years.

As The Stones taught us, "What a pain it is growing old."

Nice glasses , I just got a new pair myself last week . Need them for reading . I get glasses and an exam every 2 years under my plan . One pair of reading and 2 safety . This year regarding safety glasses , I decided on 1 regular pair of safety ( not a bad looking pair , it has the side shields too ) and one pair of the " wrap around " goggle ( safety ) type . It's my first pair of wrap around . I use the safety ones at the P.D. if I need to unfortunately dispatch sick wildlife . I take that part of my job very seriously so there is no room for error . Take care of those eyes .... we only get one set

I recently got new glasses, too, and I was really surprised by how much lenses alone had gone up.

I'm a bit concerned here. How long have you looked like a metallic blue Strat?

I have the same problem. I decided to grow my arms longer to be able to read my books.

The worst part is that one company has dominated (cornered/monopolized) the frame market. I see the ads for "glasses in under an hour/2 pair for $100" and realize my eye exams take over an hour, and glasses cost me over $300---with my insurance plan. Do you really get what you pay for? I will spring extra for sunglasses as well. I had to pay extra for safety lenses and frames and photosun lenses, but it's worth it. Like with ears, you only get the one pair.

Congrats man. Glasses are so hard to shop for. They are a practical necessity but for us eyeglasses wearers, it's also an aesthetic statement and one you make every walking minute, poke jewelry or clothing you always have on.

I have terrible eye site so my lenses are more expensive than most. And given the above, I dont skimp on glasses; every 5 years or so I get what looks and feels good regardless of price. Glasses are the most important wearable.

    Cool!

That reminds me,i need to get round to the optician ,i too go every 2 years and IIRC ,am due around now ,i think.

I think there is a change cause i'm having trouble focusing when reading ,yes ,with reading glasses, bifocals would drive me nuts.

My eye sight has gone down the pan since i got a computer, use to have 20/20 vision with glasses on,now even when i get new pair i still have a doubling/shadow effect ,annoying to say the least.Been told to cut down on the computer time ,but i only sit at it for 3.5 hours,if i cut back i might as well not bother!
