It arrived! Let me start by giving a HUGE thanks to forum member Edward Kim for taking excellent care or me... thanks Edward! I've lusted after this model for a long while and it's fantastic to own one now.

It actually landed yesterday, but due to the cold outside, I was forced to let it acclimate overnight. Today I played it and it's a work of art and plays unbelievably great, like a.. well, like a Duesenberg.

    Don't believe me? PICS!

It's extremely sexy and oh so comfy to play. I think that Duesenbergs are like cousins to Gretsches and they never fail to disappoint. This is my second and is a much welcomed addition to collection.

I can’t seem to get another one of my guitars to be as reliable as my Duesenberg. Super quality. Enjoy!!!

Thanks, Gang! I slapped a set of 10.5-50's on it and it plays great. Just enough string resistance to really make you think about what you're playing while still feeling super solid and springy.

The only thing I wish I could change is the height of the tremolo spring. Gretsch springs don't fit so I wrote to Duesenberg to see if they carry a smaller spring. Otherwise it's basically a flawless guitar.

Congratulations first of all. Good to see a NGD!

Is it really the height of the spring or do you just need the arm to be in another position? I'm sure you know, but in case you don't: you can move the arm after loosing the two allen screws - just remember to really tighten them after you found the right position. I mean like really really tight!

Yeh - I think you can also rotate it to vary the height of the end of the bar due to the "kink" in it as well.

Lovely guitar - that blue is gorgeous!

Congratulations on your beautiful new Duesenburg!

The only time I've had my hands on a Duesenberg was in a GC. I wasn't looking for it, but I had to see what everyone was talking about. It had a great feel, and it definitely was a very nice quality.

Thanks again to you all, Gang! I hope anyone who wants to can take some vicarious NGD glee from this as we all face some financial uncertainty in these trying times.

Funny you should say... I received an unbelievably fast reply from Duesenberg last night (talk about customer service!) explaining that I can, indeed, adjust the trem arm myself, which I did not know, and that while they don’t make a proper shorter spring, they do have some oddities laying about and are willing to send me some should I need them. Great company!

I haven’t had a chance to do the adjustment yet but will look at all the options when I do. Dare I say that Duesenberg just may have perfected the Bigsby?

I’ll be sure to post my results after making the trem adjustments.

I love the pickup combo, but I also wish Duesenberg did custom layouts as this body design would be great for a HSS pickup combo, too.

Regarding the color, pics don’t really do it justice. It’s really purdy and jumps when the light hits it.
