Ok Gretsch fans... this won't be for everybody. This is a Teye Jazz Cat model, which they just started producing a year or two back. This is the 15th one made, was displayed at NAMM last month, and they allowed me to dictate the color. Those that know me won't be surprised that it's blue! Probably over-the-top aesthetically for some, but I love it. If you keep an open mind, you can see that this guitar employs TV Jones Filtertrons (Powertrons), and B5 style vibrato (Duesenberg made), and even an over-sized F-hole. That's about where the comparisons to Gretsch stop. Sonically, this semi-solid sports a "Mojo" Blue Cat full*.jpeg Blue Cat body*.jpeg coil-splitting circuit that can be rolled on and off, as opposed to the more common push-pull control. That, in conjunction with the 5-way pickup selector makes for a huge variety of tone. The neck is wider than most... 1-7/8" at the nut. I find that I can adjust to that in a just a few minutes after playing any of my other guitars. Anyway... I'm loving it, and since most guys have never even seen one, I thought I would share!

With all my sales, I'm building up an impressive kitty for a purchase. I'm trying to figure what is the ultimate blue guitar build.

Wow! I think I might faint if I saw a guitar that beautiful/cool in person. Or like Wayne from Wayne's World I'd be doing the "we're not worthy!" thing (and Garth would probably "hurl").

Congrats! A little flashy for some but I like seeing guitars like this that likely tested the craftsman. Lots of work went into this one for sure.

The blue flamed maple is obvious, but what’s the other wood? How about a shot of the back of the neck to see the grain of whatever said Mystery wood is.

Wow, very cool. How does coil splitting roll on and off, is that like coil tapping? [Nevermind, jist saw Ricochet's link.] And what is the pickguard made from, aluminum?

Are the maple top and back inlaid into the body or do they sit on it like pickguards? Not sure from the pictures.

    What’s the back wood?

    How much does it weigh?

Many people rave about the Les Trem. What do you think, compared to a Bigsby?
