Not as of 15 seconds ago, not that I'm anxiously checking the tracking every couple minutes. :)

I bet you were the tallest one in your class. Oldest, too. :)

Sorry, I was rushing to make the post but had to Synchro-Nize the instrument first.
Very accurate post, but very old news. :)

    Pics coming in a minute.

It's beautiful. I think that's my favorite color for a Gretsch guitar.

Here’s the story, I was about twelve years old, minding my own business, taking a guitar lesson at Wellhaven’s music, when outta the blue this guy walks into the studio and hangs a Gretsch Tennessean on the wall, then walks back out. It had just been delivered and prepped and was displayed on the teaching studio’s wall.

I was smitten. My instructor explained that Chet played a Gretsch but that his favored model was the Country Gentleman. The Tennessean was almost as good an 5/8 the price, meaning that it cost about as much as 3 months house payment (at my parent’s house) instead of 5 months. My odds of getting one were precisely googolplex to zero against, until today.

I specifically wanted the ‘62 RI with the painted F holes, standby switch and zero fret. I had several mods planned from day one, a Chet wire arm, Schaller straplock buttons and I wanted to hear it with a titanium Compton, which brightened it considerably and intonates well. Installing those mods are the reason it took so long to post.

I’ve played it only a little, but the neck is perfect. The selling dealer, LaVonne Music of Savage, MN. Said that the setup was perfect out of the box. I concur. I love it’s lightness, at 7.15 pounds, and the 16” lower bout width makes for comfortable playing.

The big question is; will I keep or replace the HiLos. HiLotrons are great pickups, but in a trio the guitar has to really have a strong voice. If the HiLos aren’t the right tool for the job I’ll probably go with Supertrons. I’ve year to play it electrically, but that will happen later in the evening.

Thanks Tony. As fetching as it is, the dear little cat in the picture is probably the most beautiful sight in my home.

    Thanks, Wyn
It’s high on my list. They call it cherry but it’s more of a burgundy and could be described as Walnut. It’s transparent and the grain is nicely visible.
