I’m pleased to announce that Thunder 58 has joined the staff here at G-T in the role of moderator. He’s been a solid member for years and I appreciate his help.

Just so everyone is aware; a moderator does not operate the forum or have full access to the forum software. All we can do is monitor the moderation queue, deal with reported posts and, if necessary, ban users whom refuse to comply with forum rules. We have no control over the ads you see and, chances are very good that we see different advertising than you; ads are individualized.

Moderators are not paid; it’s voluntary. We can delete posts, or entire threads, but it’s not a lot of fun when you have to do that. Moderators find themselves acting against posts which may align perfectly with their own opinions, but that’s the cost of keeping the forum free of political content.

You can help Thunder (and I) by doing a few simple things. Avoid religion, politics and controversy. No nudity, profanity or w*rds wh1ch disguise, missspellll oar may-k phonetic substitutions for profanity. Be respectful towards others and if you must disagree, do so in an agreeable fashion. Give these a read now and then: http://www.gretsch-talk.com/threads/gretsch-talks-official-rules-and-guidelines-please-read.137421/

Congrats to Thunder 58 and welcome aboard.

Just for the record, I’m not quitting the forum or dying of some tropical disease. At an age when most people are thinking of retiring, I have started a new phase in my career and am working harder than ever, including nationwide travel and even some work on other continents. I’m currently managing locations in Great Britain, Asia, Australia and several places in the US. I’m loving it, BTW.

Anyhow, with so many commitments, I feel that I need more coverage and Thunder came quickly to mind as a candidate. He was kind enough to agree, and I’m happy that he did.

Better display your rabies tag at all times. As an animal control officer, his jurisdiction is limited. As a Mod, he’s got all seven continents, all eight planets and Pluto. :)

I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for doing this Rich, you have big footsteps to follow - especially since Synchro has the incurable tropical disease!

You do realize that this'll cut into your guitar playing time, Rich? It won't be as much fun as netting strays, either.

thanks and congrats? to Rich. I'm reminded of a press conference with the Beatles, then early in their career. Ringo was asked if he was a Mod or a Rocker. his reply. "I'm a Mocker." Cheers.
