I just bought my first Gretsch. I went looking for a hollowbody Tele. Then the guy said try this and handed me a G2655. Liked it, but then I saw the G2622T on the wall in Torino green. Played it for 5 minutes and 4 minutes later she was mine. What can I say I LOVE this guitar. When i am not playing it I am thinking about playing it. This has never happened to me with any guitar I have owned before. And I have owned some strats and strat like Fenders, gibson and epiphone and even my Martin D18. All are fun to play but none have touched me like this Streamliner has. I cannot believe how great it feels and plays. It made my 54 birthday one of my bests.

Welcome friend and congrats on the Gretsch . I'm a fellow Martin fan myself . I went to the factory right after Thanksgiving , and came home with an HD12-28 . Added that to the Dread Jr. and HD-35 .... oh along with my Gretsch6120-1959

Dig my 2622T, also. It's a excellent instrument for not a lot of dough.

Welcome to Gretsch-Talk wvincagold! We love it when someone new comes here gushing about their Gretsch . . . because we get it.

I should clue you in to our #1 unwritten rule, and it goes like this: "Pics, or it didn't happen." Seriously, we love seeing each other's guitars - Gretsch and otherwise.

Ok here she is. I think the one thing i like unlike Fender and Gibson Gretsch put its name on these streamliners. Not hsnding it down to a "lesser than" marque. I have owned and currently do an Epiphone and never had a Squire but am sure they make decent guitars. But its nice to have the company stand by their product and to say even our entry level guitars are worthy of the name Gretsch.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Its Torino green. I think you are seeing the reflection of the wood furniture in the finish.

In defense of Fender and Gibson, I will say that they bought Squier and Epiphone as companies and placed them under the the new parent company's management umbrella. It allowed Squier and Epiphone to continue to have their own identities, since they were a known brand.

Having said that, I do understand your point that producing quality entry level guitars, as Gretsch has done, makes it easy to be proud enough to put the company name on the headstock. For Fender and Gibson, they have always marketed the fact that real Fender and Gibson guitars are far better than Squiers and Epiphones. The truth is that many guitars manufactured outside of the US are of good quality, and are improving all the time - including Squier and Epiphone.

Oh ya I totally agree. Many of todays asian made guitars due to new machining techniques are as good or better than many guitars made in the 80s and 90s or even earlier in some cases.
