If I can’t use it, I don’t want it!
Sweet, Caleb! (Cale or Caleb Aaron?)
Enjoy that cool beast of noise maker!
Thanx! i will whenever I get it back from the repair man!
And it’s Caleb Aaron. Like the brothers in Steinbeck’s East of Eden.
Just as I thought! Best wishes to you, Caleb Aaron!
So cool, congratulations Caleb! Love to plug into that. Look forward to you getting her back. Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean (James Dean)
Ha! Yeah you got it!
When I was a kid I thought it was pretty cool that Dean played my namesake, even though my parents were adamant that I was named after the book NOT the movie.
And yeah, I can’t wait to plug in!
I’m thinkin’ it’d make a pretty cool bass amp as well.
Funny! One of my sons best friends is a Caleb...don't recall his middle name
Coincidently, my best bud is also named Caleb, but he goes by Cal. We have another close friend named Caleb as well. There aren’t many of us around so it’s funny we all ended up friends.
Those are handwired point to point American amps with good iron in the transformers. I have a Dano with 6V6 and it is a tone machine. One of the best rock sounds you will ever hear.
My bad. I know a Cale, and I guess I went there without really thinking about it.
Never saw one of these before but it sure looks über-cool. I am a sucker for vintage amps and this one would be a cool one to own. Congrats on your acquisition.
Just don’t call me late for supper!
Well, I got the amp back from my buddy a few days ago.
He installed a 3 prong plug, cleaned everything, tested the tubes, checked all the gizmos and gadgets and thingamajigs.
He added “switching caps” Fender style, and replaced a bunch of leaky caps.
He also found that some caps and resisters had never been soldered, ever! Not even at the factory when it was built. So for nearly 60 years this amp had been making terrible noises, and no one ever looked into it.
Honestly, most of this stuff is greek to me, cuz I’m amp-dumb. I just know what I like to hear, and I want stuff that works.
Anyway, my final bill for the service was $90.
I’ve been using it rehearsing for a gig this friday filling in as guitar slinger for a rowdy punk rock n’ roll band. This amp fits the music perfectly.
Will there be video .... since we cant be there.
I hope so!
Amazing. Thought you're actual first name is Caleb and Aaron was some nod to Elvis only for your G-T pseudo.
Longing for that video.
That is amazingly cool. I love that it has a 'strong' input.
You’re killing me. We need to hear this bad boy!
