Well, i’ve been squirreling cash away for a while for a deluxe reverb. BUT this Supro Tremo-Verb showed up on craigslist last month for $650.
I decided NOT to get it, and keep my eye on the fender..... that is until i test drove it today.
Well, i emptied my piggy bank, and now it’s MINE!
All three of my guitars sound great thru it. No need for my reverb or EP boost pedal. This baby needs very little help from pedals. I’ve tried it with just a maxon delay, and i ran a tube screamer with the tele.
I cannot WAIT till band practice.

I would, BUT i have no real recording gear that’d do it justice, just my iPhone.

    Congrats, nice amp.
I've seen a few ones this afternoon at L'ampli à Lampes in Pigalle where I was testing the VT20X with my son. As he also wants to have beautiful clean tones for his MIM strat, the VT20X was not convincing, especially as we also had a Fender Princeton (in tweed) for comparison.

Congrats, i hear good things about that model. Always good to give things a try man, i know i wouldn't trade my original Tremo Verb for no Deluxe reverb. A brown or tweed one.......hmmmmm?:D

Yup. Opinions and advice can be good sometimes, but I really just had to plug in and hear it for myself.
I brought my 5129 to test it, and plugged in the tele when i got home with it. Real happy with my choice. The deluxe is awesome, but this has what I wanted in a deluxe: natural tube breakup, trem, verb, and over 15 watts/under 40 watts.
The tremolo sounds so cool. And the reverb is probably going to make my reverb pedal obsolete.
My ONLY complaint so far is how hard it is to read the dots on the knobs. Gonna have to put some tape on those things.

If the control panel is anything like the old one's then be careful, the old one's are delicate and always thrashed.

It looks very different than the original panel on the 5watt. More knobs.
I think it’s probably built a bit more rugged nowadays.
You’d think it’d have to be since they’re asking for over $1000 for them brand new!
    But time will tell.

Yep, you got two more knobs and two less jacks........three inputs on a 5 watt amp:p kinda like the 100 mph speedo on my old harley.....a bit optimistic. 20181108_180315.jpg

That thing looks like it’s in great shape!
I’d love to record vocals thru that.

I record vocals with a beat up 1968 Shure Vocal Master PA. The reverb is killer, and it distorts easily in the coolest way. Much like I’d imagine yer supro would.
Always prefer to record vocals with the sound fx I want as opposed to dry and adding stuff afterward.

Hey, you could cut some black tape or even use a sharpie to put some lines on the reflector part of the knobs.
