When I saw that speakers I though it must be a 2x10, that’s the reason why I said it was a Super.
A friend of mine has one to sell (in the 3k price range, mint) that sounds like a dream.
Not the same chassis though! :D;)

Ahh I must have been mistaken about the concert and super sharing the same chassis. The concert has a factory covered hole for a tube rectifier. I assumed that the concert and super are very similar, both having the harmonic tremolo, about 40W, but with different speaker complements (2x10 vs 4x10).

    Well?

    LOL

Seriously, as much as I love my 5F6-a, the brown Concert is one I've coveted for a while now. I love the 4x10 setup... Anybody compared a 5f6-a and a brown Concert, side by side?

Would you consider a trade for a Peavey Bandit? I could also throw in 5 magic beans!

So I got the amp yesterday, but waited until now to make the post.

I’m in love with this amp. It’s is absolutely the best amp I have ever played or owned hands down. I thought my ‘62 Pro couldn’t be beat... that just changed.

At 3 on the volume, you get a nice clean tone, and it gets thicker and fatter as you dial up the volume. Around 5 1/2 or 6 is when the amp hits the sweet spot. Amazing edge-of-breakup tones, huge fender bell like cleans with some hair on it. Very dynamic to touch - play soft and you have a nice round clean, dig in a bit and it is very responsive. I’m not a huge saturation kind of guy, so anything above 6 1/2 to 7 is a bit too aggressive for me. But it has plenty of headroom as it is. At 6 it is pretty loud, my ears were ringing after I was done playing (maybe I should invest in earplugs).

The 4x10 oxford 10K5 speakers are absolutely stunning, and produce a strong bass response and very clear highs (definitely not ice pick treble). When this amp breaks up, it does so in a way that no other fender amp has done for me. It maintains all of its clarity, responsiveness, and doesn’t get muddy one single bit. Of course, being a Brownface, the mids are there, and I think that’s what really gives these Brownface amps the appeal over Blackface. It’s true what they say you know - Brownface has more headroom and bigger cleans than the tweeds, and have more mids and a nicer breakup than the Blackfaces.

So the harmonic tremolo, as you guys may know, is definitely awesome and unique to the Browns. My Pro has the same harmonic trem, so the concert’s trem wasn’t really anything new to me. I actually think that the normal channel on the concert sounds better than the vibrato channel. The vibrato channel sounds great, but the normal channel just has that extra something special.

Here’s a couple pictures of the Concert, as well as a few with my Pro also!

A buddy of mine has one (I think he still has it) for sale. It’s very small but I think it has the real vibrato on it. I haven’t gotten the chance to play it yet.
