Welcome to the forum, madhermit!
Nice welcome mat! And Thanks
Just gave Brian a deposit. The cab guy even said he starting framing one up. This sounds like it may go quickly.
Played one at Brian's place. It sounds amazing! It has Electrohome transformers. Maybe that is the magic?
This amp is awesome! Brian does great work and is a great guy to deal with. It is thanks to this thread that I found him. It has gotten me in a whole new headspace of buying hand-built amps. I don't care about the name on the amp. I want the sound!
So, I was planning on a JTM45 build and a used 1x12 JTM45 combo dropped into my lap for less than $1000 CDN. Got them both on the same weekend. BLISS!
The Marshall is by a Toronto builder named Steve Moratto. He has been around a long time and has a great reputation. Hand-built, (for himself originally), mustard caps, and LOUD as #$%! I put one of those Eminence FDR Maverick speakers in it to try, and the attenuation is great. I have the Reignmaker on order (more of British sound apparently).
... and the amp wall ...
That sounds like a perfect amp! Please give me his contact info.
Which guy? Steve or Brian?
Steve is zubcaw AT gmail.com
Brian is bdlmarine AT rogers.com
Tell them I sent you! (Jason in Newmarket)
Thanks. I was thinking Brian. He's the original amp builder in this thread, right?
Now I need to sell my Mesa Boogie Studio .22+.
Yes. Brian built both the Princeton clones in this thread.
