He does it as a hobby. The speaker is one I had in stock, an Eminence 1258 Legend. His real business is marine electronics and he is very successful. He buys his electronic parts in bulk and puts about one amp per week together. He loves Princeton Reverbs, it's his passion.

That's awesome. I love PR's too, but only in a 1x12 configuration like this..........THIS setup is the perfect gigging amp imo. Powerful enough, but low enough to get to the juiced goods.

Absolutely. 38 pounds of smoking 6v6 tubes in a white pine cab with a decent 12" speaker. Yowza! How can you miss? Add a beautiful reverb circuit and throbbing tremolo and it is a winner in every way.

Like you, I also own Allen amps and this little PR had some big shoes to step into.

Is that smoke I see rising in the west coming from Sarnia?

    Now THAT's funny :D

Tony you'll have to share Brian's contact info. Google has no idea. I'm sure I've heard of this Princeton guru. I think he's had amps at Capsule Music.

Thanks Drew, January is a heavy travel month for me but February is wide open. Pick your time through February and I'll be pleased to have you over. Good pub with great food just across the road from me too. Sound good? You're always welcome my friend!

Very cool, indeed! BTW, that's far too many amps you have there. I think, for your own good, you should send a few to me to "watch" for you. ;)

Also, thanks for the pics, as it does prove this happened, but if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? Who knows? That's why we need some sound clips of this bad boy!

I understand I have a lot of amps but honestly, I only need one more. Really.

As I said, January is a crazy month for me time-wise but I'll try to record some tracks with it Darin. Every time I turn it on I smile and it seems to sound good with any guitar.

I was showing my son just before I headed out tonight (sitting in an airport hotel with a 6:30 am flight.) I played three different Gretsch guitars, a Ric, a SG with '57 classics, a SG with P90s, a Strat, a Tele, a Hagstrom and a Casino. His comment was simply, "wow, it really works with all of them."

I usually don't get this happy over a new amp. This one really delivers the good. It is a blackface PR with a 12" speaker. All of the parts, including the speaker, are made to tolerances hat Leo would have found difficult to obtain.

The PR is a classic and this amp clearly illustrates the reasons why it is possibly the most recorded amp ever. I have played the daylights out of it and it sounds great all the time.
