Like the new pearloid pickguard, Larry! Oh, and I agree that all single coil guitars should come shielded. It would save our fingers. ;)

..so funny that you said that...This is the stock pickguard I removed...shielded where the 4 knobs are....All 3 of my new pickguards were shielded exactly this same way
My Tele never gave me trouble before....so, perhaps a little guarding in this area is enough...LOL!

Hey let's ask our resident builder what he does...HEY DAVID!!!! @englishman ...Do you shield your builds?

Fyi, after you asked a while back, I noticed that Ernie Ball does state on their website that certain guitars are shielded.

Not normally unless requested. I have to think that kind of conductive stick-on stuff may be more for ensuring a good ground between the pots than part of constructing a Faraday cage.

Foil works fine for making a Faraday cage. It doesn't have to be perfect to be effective.
The problem is finding Alu or Copper foil that has a bit of thickness to it. All I can find these days looks like it's a couple of microns thin kitchen alu foil, with a sticky layer. I already confiscated a roll from the central heating repair guy which is better, but still not the same quality as I remember using.

Looks good! Now you've got me curious, almost tempted to go take the pick guard off my Tele just to see.

I used that Nashua stuff in a tele once, and i didnt post about it here because i was afraid you'd all laugh at me for bringing a knife to a gunfight. It seems like a great solution, stiff enough to keep its shape and to be easy to work with and easy to cut. And the adhesive is great.
Larry the tele looks a million dollars with that new evening dress
