    Well, no @wildeman ... This guitar is here since 2 years. Nobody is interested but me (remember : Lefty). The owner wants 700 Euros for an incomplete, unplayable, scratched instrument, without case... Absolutely no way ! I'm even not sure to consider it a half the asked price... For me, it's a project guitar.

    For 750 Euros, I bought this mint unused G5420TLH FBL in late 2019 - no comparison :

    That said, If I could snag at vile price that LH G5191, I would refinish it :

    - "Night Sparkle" top :cool::cool::cool: :

    [IMG]

    - "Glossy Black" for the rest.
    - I have a Gold Gretsch V-cut B6LH that I would indeed use on it.
    - "Gold Plastic" classic Gretsch bezels (no issue with the marks of the old ones as the top is refinished).

    She would become The Gretsch G5191 "Max Bling Signature Model"... :cool::cool::cool:

    Well... finally, I think that I'll return to my local music shop and "shake" the boss my good pal about that leftover guitar... Maybe @wildeman is right, after all... :eek::confused::D

    A+!

    That finish reminds me of a 90’s Fender Custom Shop Holoflake strat I used to have. It looked similar up close, but back away and hit it with lights and it popped like this one from the web. 9C19B8F3-F3A9-49B9-A17C-6F2D034307A1.jpeg

    I wish I did but I sold it pre-smart phone. Now I take pictures of everything and have over 3000 on my phone. :confused:

    I believe Holoflake’s came out around 1994. It had stock Tex Mex pickups and played beautiful. It’s one of the three guitars I’ve let go and should’ve kept. There was a small but cool run of purple Holoflake that was made too (I believe maybe for Guitar Center). Here’s one from online.

    Aw, too bad, @Merc ... :(

    On your HoloFlake, I suppose that the backing color was black : right ? o_O

    What you call HoloFlake uses "Rainbow" flakes (that break down light into nuances) and not colored flakes (red, gold, blue, silver, green, etc...) : right also ? o_O

    It was definitely on black paint. Up close the flakes didn’t show color and looked grey or silver until the light hit it like on this example. I believe the flake works as you described. It was my galactic space guitar. I should’ve held on to it but sold it to pay for a G6118 at the time. But the price on these have since gone up so I’ll likely not get another.

    I see - thanks @Merc !

    So yes, it's different from what I posted, where the flakes are colored :
