Thank you! I'm already in love with it, and I don't even have it in my hands yet. The only issue is a slightly bent tuner, which is fully functional according to the seller. And for only $2000!

I was thinking it must be a non-original bridge. What would be the correct bridge for it?

That would be a straight Rocking Bar,but i would go with a Tru Arc ,probably need a low rider for a vintage guitar.

You could sell that Melita too as they are worth something.

When did they offer the Melita originally? (Note to self to pick up a vintage Gretsch reference book or two). No way it could be original? I'd probably change it too, but keep it if it might possibly be original to the guitar.

Interesting set of features. It looks like it isn't a 6113 as it has smaller F hole silkscreens and neck binding. But it does lack the white outline on the F holes and doesn't reference Chet Atkins on the pickguard (assuming it's original--no reason why it shouldn't be) like the 6113.

I thought the features were interesting too. I couldn't find one that quite fit exactly with this one, but it seems like these early models can be pretty inconsistent in terms of features.

    It's a Wayne Gretschsky question.

Gretsch started using them around 1951/52 ,maybe 53,then around the late 50's most of them were replaced with the space control, except the Chet guitars of course, which never came stock with them.
    Chet's 2 prototype 6120's had them though.

Its been replaced though ,as by 62 this guitar would have had a straight bar bridge.
