Well at least we know which side of the family it came from!

Lol, not only is my step dad a guitar collector (not an excellent player, but it makes him happy) but my father is a gigging blues guitarist, who also buys too many guitars. So I definitely got it from somewhere, lol.

(My mom even owns a les paul menace. She used to own an epi firebird as well, but I ended up buying it from her, lol.)

Oh, and my step dad finally settled on a guitar (I think). He wants to get one of those 12-string strats in Olympic white. He hasn't changed his mind about it in about a week, so I think he's more serious about this one. Let's hope he doesn't change his mind yet again...

Well if you want to mess with him you could show him the 12 string Gretsch and a 12 string Martin, etc etc etc

Tell your mom. That'll throttle his GAS.

    UPDATE:

He bought the les paul anyway...

It's a maraudo brown custom that's been heavily modified; all black hardware, black and red knobs, no pickguard, dirty fingers pickups, and a very broken pickup selector.

Apparently the toggle switch snapped off at the shaft during shipping, and he also can't get the guitar to stay in tune. I'm going to do any repairs he needs and set it up for him, but I'm afraid to ask what he paid for it, because I can almost guarantee it was too much.

I thought literally every other guitar he was looking at was cooler than the les paul he chose to get instead, but it's his money, and he seems to really like the guitar for what it is (not just something to try and sell for profit, like the Zakk Wylde LP). If it makes him happy, then I'm happy he bought it; it just seems like an odd choice IMHO.

My father never played guitar, nor any musical instrument by the way. He only bought one record (an excellent one) in its life in November 1962 : Last Night / The Mar-Keys. So no worry... :D

If I wanted (the question is pertinent these times ) to buy a Les Paul, that would be this one :

And I would convert it in a Junior Special with a 2nd P90, a PU selector and a Bigsby B5 tremolo...

    But it's me, OK ? :D

    A+!
