    Something about the Esquire has always fascinated me. Seeing Luthers' at the Johnny Cash museum reinforced the desire. So, here she is. Started as a $199.99 Squier Tele. Paid 17.99 for the pickguard, $10.00 for decal paper and $4.00 for clear paint. Still came in under $250.00. I took Stefans' advice and wired it Eldred Mod style. A friend gave me an original Tele control plate with 250K pots and the real switch not the solid state that comes on the Squier. It sounds amazing. I am really happy with it. Must confess it is getting the most attention now. Although I am working on Folsom Prison Blues. The jackplate and bridge are not changed, maybe later. Pretty close to it as it is. Luther used a buckle set with double keepers, I could not find one. Here are the Obligatory pics!! DSC_0758.JPG DSC_0758.JPG DSC_0756.JPG DSC_0757.JPG

    Very cool. Pardon my ignorance, but why does it need a switch?

    @panhead6zero

    Which model of Squier Tele did you used ?
    Was the color original, or did you refinished it ?
    What's the name of that color ?

    Thanks to let me know, ;)

    A+!

    Original Arctic White Affinity. The bullet is cheaper and there is another at $249.00 that is an upgrade, but I wanted the maple neck and fret board. Surprisingly nice for the money.

    Well done! Would you explain how you did the decal?

    Ah, OK. Thanks ! I really thought that it was a clear cream color, because in my mind, Arctic White is very pure white, if I refer to the Squier VM Jazz Bass of my bassist band mate. I did not had the idea to search for an Affinity series, but I'm afraid that your Tele's color isn't available in Left-Hand...

    My inclination is for Steve Cropper's Esquire (but in LH for me ;)) :

    Budget Tele's can be awesome. My main is a cheap Yamaha Pacifica that i put a P90 in front. Its one of my absolute favoritest guitars i've EVER owned ( alot). I have less than $200.00 into it. This guitar speaks for me. 1560095986196-1786920061.jpg
