Picked up a killer deal on a Gretsch G5622T on closeout on Cyber Monday. My first Gretsch and my first real semi hollow. The guitar arrived today, so here I am - looking for like minded individuals to chat with and answer any questions I might have... Like what case fits this darn thing!

So just who is this Ducerro fellow? Well - by day I'm the CEO of a rather small winery in central Texas. It's so small that my other "job titles" include janitor, yard boy, forklift driver, accountant, material control manager, and... winemaker.

By night I'm a very poor example of a guitarist looking to improve. If you look up "rank amateur" in the dictionary you'll likely find a photo of me (or someone who looks just like me). I started playing in my early teens on a Sears and Roebuck acoustic. It's in the dictionary too - under "unplayable" guitars bought by well meaning parents to convince their kids NOT to take up music as a hobby. Along those lines it worked very well. I didn't pick up a guitar again until I traded some computer expertise for a Squier Strat. By the way - little did I know THAT particular Squier's picture is also in the dictionary next to the Sears acoustic! Then one day I realized I hadn't bought myself anything "unnecessary" in many a moon. As it just so happens I had amassed a King's ransome in AMEX Points. With quite the bankroll I found myself on Amazon looking for a deal - which lead to my first "real" guitar - a Fender American Stratocaster. And being a bit of a "collector" I suddenly found myself with more guitars than fingers but not yet toes - well, until today. Now I need to remove at least one shoe so I can count them all.

    Thanks for having me aboard!

Welcome! I'm a Texan as well, in the service industry. Does your winery happen to sell to restaurants in Victory Park in Dallas? We carry product from a number of local TX winemakers.

We self distribute, so we're not able to go that far north. We were just up in Mansfield for a couple of days though - the trip was 271 miles one way. We try to hold our distribution partners to a 60 mile radius! Would love to be there if it wasn't so far!

Welcome! That's a great looking guitar, thanks for sharing the pic.

I see no one has answered the case question yet, and I know there are a bunch here who have that model and would know. If no one answers soon, maybe consider posing another thread in the Gretsch or Electromatic sections of the forum, I am certain you will get an answer.

Sounds like a lot of hats you're wearing at work, sounds good that you do enough production to require use of a fork truck!

Well, truth be told the "fork truck" is actually a Kubota M7040 tractor fitted with front forks. The forks are on a quick disconnect so I can switch to a bucket if needed - in back I'm sporting an 8' shredder for "yard work". Just used it today to off load a semi with materials for production. Getting ready to bottle tomorrow and then it's off to 3 different festivals this weekend to sell the stuff!

It's a bit older now (but ain't we all). This was taken shorty after the tractor was new when we were installing the deer fence for the vineyard.
