So, how about some Stevie?
What?! No love for Robert Cray? Man has a soulful voice and plays as melodically as anyone ever has.
He may not blow a building apart like Stevie but he will surely burn it down by the end of the evening.
Not to mention he’s one of the few who can really write a song...really.
What you mean " no love"? He's killer, i haven't heard anything bad said bout him.
I’m just saying that if we’re talking about who’s keeping the blues alive; Cray needs to be in that conversation. I think his name will live on way past others in his wave such as Benoit or Bonamossa.
Clark is the newest generation and I like him a lot.
Has he written or recorded the songs that will keep him in peoples hearts for decades? Maybe not yet...but he’s on the right road for sure.
Another more modern artist that needs to be mentioned:
I'm going to see him in a couple weeks...
This is the last Robert Cray cd i bought, it is excellent.
