No Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving! (Although if my office played anything other than Sirius' Xmas channel, which is the same songs over and over for 12 hours, I'd probably like it more.)

I worked a huge Christmas show for 30 years. Glee club, lots of jazz hands, frat boys, and whimsy. Spent about 4 months a year on it. The month of the show, we'd be on 12-14 hour days. The many bad holiday tunes didn't help much. The week of the show, and the week after, we'd do over 100 hours. I was nearly comatose afterwards for Christmas at home. The only thing that fired me up for it was my daughter and wife.

Considering we've had over a months worth of Halloween, I can do without two months of Christmas. Wait till after Thanksgiving. We Still have All Saints' Day, All Souls Day, Guy Fawkes Day, my birthday, Veterans Day, and others to get thru before Turkey Day.

The commercialization of Christmas gets to me as well. After all, we need to remember the real reason for the season----the Winter Equinox.

We have to start practicing Christmas music early, so we are ready for performance after Thanksgiving. I’ve been working on Advent/Christmas arrangements since September

Tavo, I'm a product of Catholic schools. I know the real reasons. Thing is, the Church took the 25th as the date for Christmas, taking it from the pagan Yule celebration. Jesus was apparently born in spring, going by the census that caused Joseph and Mary to travel to Bethlehem. Yule was one of the earliest holidays for many peoples because it took a few days to realize that the sun wasn't going away forever, and that the days were getting longer again. The Christians just adopted one of the biggest holidays for their own. As long as there was going to be a party, let's enjoy it ourselves. The Church used a few pagan holidays and adapted them for their own uses. Halloween is another.
