At that price point? Not really.
But Borderadio brings up a good point, you could consider Gretsch a sleeper brand.

20200113_183750.jpg It's one of the only guitars that David Gillmore didn't auction away. He said it's the one he would stick with

Considering most of the world would call a jet a "Les Paul copy", heck yes. My double cut jet is currently my #1.

I thought about buying a Duo Jet, but I think they are a bit expensive for me.

One with Filtertrons and one with Dynasonics. Two totally different guitars and you need them both.

I know David Gilmour has been mentioned a couple of times but this clip is always worth a listen.

Is there anyone bigger than D Gilmour or M Young

I love my hollow bodies and will always pick them first but the jets are really hard to pass on, they are just so versatile.

It's gonna happen again, i'll get some money to get another guitar... look at 6120's, and wind up buying a silver sparkle with filters.

I went through around 10 6120s, an Annie and various hollow Electromatics before settling on Duo Jet.

Now it's under pressure from a Les Paul Special!

Get a Pro Jet, replace the Blacktops with TVJ Classics and the bridge with something of higher quality and get a pro setup. I bet you will be totally happy ;)

For some reason I'm surprised the Pro Jet has the Blacktops. I thought I had heard Gretsch tends to use the TV Jones Classics (and maybe some others) on their higher-end models. The Blacktops were stock on my G5420T, and I replaced them with TV Jones Classics..

The Pro Jet is the Electromatic version of the Duo Jet. It's a mid-tier, not higher end model that comes stock with Blacktops.

The Pro Jet name confuses people. It’s as DaveNumber2 said. The Pro Line are the high end guitars made in Japan except for the Custom Shop. Pro Line also consists of more than simply Jets and have full hollow bodies, etc.

Participating on this forum can sure be hazardous to one's pocketbook. Just when I thought I'd at some point in the future get the new Brian Setzer "smoke" 6120 and then be done, reading this thread sent me looking at Jets on the Gretsch website where I saw the gorgeous G6134T LTD Penguin. Hoochie momma!
