I had the opportunity to try a Vintage Select Cadillac Green Country Club 6196T -59 a few weeks back and it absolutely knocked me out with its superb tone, touch sensitivity and responsiveness. I stalked out Reverb and ebay waiting for a used one to pop up and eventually found one at Cream City Music in WI which I have been watching for a few weeks now.
I came close to pulling the trigger at least 3 times and but ended up backing out at the last minute each time I was about to hit the PayPal button. Well, thanks to my willpower for not caving in sooner, I ended up receiving a 15% OFF ROCKTOBER coupon offer from Reverb for that very guitar. So, guess who finally pulled the trigger...and saved himself $375?
Thanks to the guys at Cream City for taking good care of me. They have her scheduled for a set up before she ships tomorrow. Hope to have her in my hands by the end of the week. So, whatdya think? CC1.jpg CC3.jpg CC4.jpg CC5.jpg CC6.jpg CC7.jpg

Totally beautiful. I’m not typically a gold fan, but with this it works!

    No jazz...mainly 60s rock...think Del Shannon/ Roy Orbison/Animals/ Johnny Rivers.

Thanks, it's actually a metallic teal if you ask me.

    Here I go again:

If you want a 50s/60s/vintage sound from your guitar, replace the bridge pickup with another TV Jones Classic neck pickup (see my signature block for details).

Doesn’t that make the bridge pickup seem weak though? I feel like the bridge pickup always needs a little help......a little extra just to sound balanced........?

Not to me; it sounds clearer, just like a vintage Filtertron. The middle/both-pickups-on sounds "sweeter/fuller". To me, the sonic benefits outweigh any slight variations in perceived output.

As far as I know, Brian Setzer and George Harrison did very well in the studio, and on stage, having pickups that were equal in output. :)

In the meantime, how about a Chik-Fil-A Deluxe to tide you over?

Apples and oranges then. For what I do......I definitely want some kick in the bridge.......and somewhere along the line Setzer obviously changed his mind.......though I can’t say I really love his signature set.......again, apples and oranges.

    Chic-Fil-A............oh man, I was DYING for some today..........know why? It’s Sunday. :(

Congrats!!! I had a similar situation. I moved on from negotiating with someone regarding a 6121 who wouldn't budge on price (though he said he was "taking offers") ? then the very next morning the 15% coupon kicked in for a different 6121 I was watching and I pulled the trigger. Big, big savings. Loving Rocktober! Good luck Bing James with the new twanger!
