If you think FB is full of nastiness, you best stay far away from Twitter.
That is no joke... No Twitter OR Instagram account here either... I don't really CARE what bitter people have to say in 144 characters or less... Just let them scream at the world all they want... I'm not listening.
I agree with that, but in my Twitter account I only follow my interests, block all ads, and Never get a stray rant from anybody.
Klaatu Barada Nikto!
I do some internet marketing and use FB extensively because of it. I have about 4000 'friends' but they are all in marketing also and all communication is business related.
I don't have any real life friends on there so there's no drama, arguments, or any of that kind of FB crap..
I've been ignoring friend requests from all of my family and relatives for years..
I know you meant well, but I think what you're looking for is wgah'nagl fhtagn.
I don't think you'll regret it. FB sucks, FB's Boss sucks, and all the stuff they do with your data ... I don't even know what exactly, but from outside it looks like too much.
Same here. No Twitter, no Instagram, none of these.
Never saw this doing anything for me ... waste of time ... too much, connected with everyone, everywhere, always, about everything ... that's just over the top. The downside of modern times.
Anyway, congratulations to the leaving ones and to the ones staying away.
I opened my FB account years ago because I had to, being an I.T. tech. The way I use it is to "quickly" scan the news line for anything that may be remotely of interest then ignore the rest.
Things I hate about FB:
All of the above posts! They are all too true. A real time suck!
Things I like about it:
Messenger, app works great on the phone.
I can subscribe to pages that interest me like Vintage Tube Amps and Test Equipment.
Tons of helpful posts there.
Other than that... Opinions, like armpits, all stink!
You're just trying to get me in trouble
Facebook definitely isn’t as much fun anymore but as musician in a live band it’s a well needed tool to promote my band.
Everything we do is booked through Facebook.
All the promoters are on there to book us & it’s a great platform to pick up new fans/followers to come to the shows as well as hooking up with other bands to put shows on together around the country.
I’m afraid i need Facebook...
The Messenger app is fantastic

Lovecraft still scares me....
I got to a point that I stopped caring for most peoples' so called freedom of speech, opinions, and negativity. My time spend on Facebook has been drastically decreased. Very happy about that. I won't delete my fb account because of too many social and professional contacts. What I do like are the more limited social media like instagram and forums for my interests (like gretschtalk).
I'll never sign up to Facebook or any of those other type media sites.
Here and the GDP,is all the social media i need.
Not a bad speech for a total sociopath such as yourself. I welcome the company.
Well, I did it and it felt great to hit that delete button. My account won't be completely deleted for 30 days. I hope I can refrain from logging back in within that time period. I believe I can.
I quit Facebook a while ago. You can't login for about a month or so, before your account gets deleted. I don't like how people interact with each other online. It seems that anonymity brings out the worst in people. For a lot of people their virtual lives seem more important than real life.
Gretsch Talk is one of the few exceptions on the internet.
I have an account on FB soley because I have to have a personal account to admin the largely inactive FB page for the Winterwind website.
I'm on Twitter solely for the sake of, again, Winterwind and attempting to relaunch after a five year hiatus. If not for social media being how one markets and promotes these days I'd have zero use for social media.
And I try to avoid politics at all costs. My opinions are between me and my wife and the polling station. I follow some actors and musicians that will tweet their political views and that's fine but I steer clear. It never ends well no matter what side of the fence you're on.
Like the anonimity of rude people in automobiles feeling empowered, until I follow them into their driveway, then they get all apologetic...
