OK, but you only get the ugly supermodels.
Gretsch Penguin roundup;
A real brand
Dynas or T-armonds, not sure of the sonic differences there
Spalted maple top
The Penguin big ole headstock with spalted maple there as well
Gretsch round up colors, inlays and leather
Mud switch not a tone knob
Open geared tuners, I think that does it.
Well maybe pickguardless, I am tossed up on that one. Needs more thought.
Oh and no cheese grater bridge, rocking bar is fine preferably SS.
Isn't this tasty!
Holy smokes! That’s quite a feature set. I love the Roundup, so I would wager that this would be striking. Jets with Dynas are great sounding, so my first vote would be the T-Armonds, my second choice would be Supertrons. I like the idea of chrome hardware; chrome is quite durable. I would want a shortened wire handle for the Bigsby.
I actually like the one on my Jade what is it called? Is it a butter knife? But this thread had me thinking pretty hard about it and I saw a nice vid of the knotty pine one and it looked and sounded good to me but I saw a spalted maple top once that was very cool. I also wouldn't mind a reddish burst like I have on my Oldwave mandolin. I will post a pic in the other cool guitars forum as it is probably the only place to post something other than a Gretsch.
Nothin’ wrong with a butter knife handle. I have one on my Duane Eddy Guild.
On my Gretsches, I use the Chet handle exclusively. It’s a great idea for fingerstyle.
My dream Gretsch ? A two tone RED Anniversary, WINE RED for the back and sides.
That would be a great color combo!
Very cool! I love red guitars.
The Synchro Hot Rod
Here it is with actual strings and a red Bass VI behind it.
@audept That's funny i was thinking about you when i wrote the words "red wine".
Pinot Noir wine red exactly.
"2-Tone Pinot" ?
There’s a Setzer Hot Rod in two-tone red, it I like G DynaTron’s idea better.
Have you seen the Setzer Hot Rod in red?
That Roman Red is a bit too dark for me. Ferrari Red is more my style.
64' Monkees red anniversary
That with a wine red back & sides?
I’m a major fan of red stuff, cars, boats, airplanes, UFOs and most certainly guitars. When I was 17 I had a triple red Ford Falcon, about the color of that guitar, and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, at the time. Ive had a wine red Gibson Johnny Smith Guitar and a wine red pickup truck. I had a tomato red Volvo and several red guitars over the years.

I loved the color of this guy, it I just can’t hack four-knob control sets, so I sent it on to a new home.
I like the Oriental Red that Gretsch uses on the MYRII. Here's my modified one:
That is gorgeous! There isn’t a type of red I don’t like, everything from bright, pure red to deep burgundy.
Yep. I also love red UFOs.
It's a bit of a shame that their drivers are mostly green though. LOL
Life is filled with compromises.
