It does work! I'd suspect Gordo would approve. It's faster but it retains the flavor of the song.

I like the video---illuminated by car headlights, and they're using small amps.

Life is weird - I'm sittin' here an hour ago kinda bored and go down to the local bar for a pint(I'm in central NY). As I'm sitting there, I'm looking at the tap handles and i see they have "Edmund Fitzgerald Porter". Come home and click on this thread.

You didn't get a sinking feeling, didja?

That poor bugger's hand is frozen to the mic. Like doing a outdoor gig in Ottawa!

Except the main hatchway didn't give in. Gordon L wrote and recorded the song long before good research showed what really happened. (It hit ground on a poorly mapped area of the lake.) Not sure why the official report was so wrong, ignoring good evidence from many sources.

I'm sort of an Edmund Fitzgerald fanatic.

Great version, grabbed it on iTunes. Thanks for posting.

Love it. Have seen the Headstones 13 times in Ottawa over the years. Don't miss getting spit on, but this cover brings me joy. If Gordon Lightfoot can cover "Cemetery" then the world is finally spinning right.

Nah, doesn't work for me. The pace and 4/4 structure are too happy and upbeat and create a mismatch to the story's somber mood.

But I like this band - want to hear more of their stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Good cover! Wish it was a shorter tune.
