...because after a few days with my first ever Gretsch and browsning this forum I have already developed some serious gas for another one.

    Anyways, hello everybody!
My namn is Mathias, I'm 40 years old and I live outside a small town called Vara in the south west of Sweden.

Been playing guitar and bass on and off for 25 years, and although I'm a complete hack I still love playing.

Got hold of an barely used Electromatic pro jet 5438 five days ago and after a setup I'm as happy as a pig in a mudhole. Love this thing but thanks to you I'm already thinking about how to finance my next Gretsch. The way I see it two Gretsches must be better than one, right?

    Cheers!

Well you need something to keep you smiling through those long, cold Swedish winters - apart from the wife or girlfriend that is.
My wife suggests you only need one because you've only got one pair of hands.
Just ignore her, that's what I do!

    Thanks guys!
Seems to be a really nice place. I like it already.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow. It's to dark now to make her justice.

I know what you mean. My wife is just like that, but at the same time she just bought her fourth sewing machine...

Welcome to G-T. Congrats on the Pro Jet. Next you need a hollow body.

Never ask here if you should buy another guitar. We'll always say yes!

Oh oh, another victim of the Gretsch virus :D

    Welcome!

Btw, how many pairs of shoes does your wife have? And how many guitars do you have? ;)

PS: And 4 sewing machines ... what's that? Female multi tasking? ... haha :D:D:D

I completely understand this. This forum can really fan that GAS flame.

Welcome to Gretsch-Talk, the GASiest . . . I mean, the friendliest forum on the internet.

Willkommen, Hultberg. Gretsch is one of the last family-owned brands. GT is some kind of a family to me as well. A good place to share knowledge and a friendly place to find friends that share the same passion. You are very welcome here.

    Howdy! Welcome to the asylum.

I'll warn you now---these people are just a bunch of enablers. No one here will ever try to talk you out of buying another guitar, amp, pedal, set of strings, picks or anything else guitar related.

When my wife complained about my having too many instruments, I started counting the shoes in her closet.

I slept on the couch for a week.

    Welcome Mathias.
G5438's can only be played on a Monday, Wednesday and a Friday, what are you going to do the other days.
That's why Gretsch give all their guitars different model numbers, they signify what days they can be played on.
You need a 2000 series to play on the other days.
Sunday is an optional day that you can play your Fender/ Gibson/ Epiphone on.
(shhh don't say anything guys, he is a rookie and won't know that I am making this up)
It's also a 2 guitar minimum to get into this forum SECURITY!!!!

Welcome. Gretsches are so beautiful, you need at least two, one to play - and other to look at while you're playing the first.

    Welcome aboard.
Whatever makes you happy but I'm starting to think that less is more but it's not quite working for me at the moment.
