I always stumble at these here introduction things cos I never know where to start and once started I never know where to stop..
So, not long since I started to learn guitar. well, that isn't entirely true as this is my 3rd attempt, now I am at the age where I can spend as much time playing( cough) as I want to..
Recently bought my 1st Gretsch, a used and abused Jim Dandy. Which I should add once I lowered the action a little is a joy to play, though sometimes the strings choke out but I think I need to add a tad more relief to the neck..
I am sure I will get to add stuff to my bio as we go along, but right now I do have to head out to work...sigh.

I take it that you are retired 5o . The age survey indicates that many of us are "out to graze" Hope we are not getting too grumpy. Shouldn't be as we are all Gretschies. Duane Eddy is my inspiration . Six years older than me and still giggin'. Arty

Thank you for the warm welcome, that is the worst of these here intro type threads. I always leave stuff out..
I from Glasgow in Scotland, which I should have mentioned way back there ^, No not retired but not too far off retirement age, well not unless the U.K. Government put it up again I should be able to retire at the age of 67 in 8 years time.
Kids have gone and flown the coop, the Mrs went along time ago when I sold her to the local licensed grocer for a 6 pack of beer...No, I'm only kidding we both wandered our separate ways a long time ago..That's why I said I have loads of guitar time.
And work, yeah I am self employed, but the least said about the daily toil then the better eh...:D
picture, yeah you all knew I was going to get around to it sooner or later..so..

Have to say that I really enjoy playing this little guitar, it seems to have a big voice for it's small size. Guitar was a bit chipped and neglected when I bought her, bow in the neck that Robin Hood would be proud of and the fret board was so dry that it took 3 passes of hydrate to get it looking healthy.. I performed one of my set ups, the string height at the 12th was a tad over 4 mm, so I brought that down to just over 2.5 mm and other than the choking when string bending I am happy with how she plays...
I think that is all, It will have to do for now cos I need to be making some food to feed this here face of mine..

    Welcome to GT!
I have the same problem with my Jim Dandy. The saddle is about a millimeter too high for (my) comfort.
Easy fix though. Just waiting for the next string change to take the saddle out. :)
